iContinuing Education (CME/CNE/CEM Activities)

The iContinuing Education (iCE) on HIV/AIDS is an initiative of Special Preventive Programme, Department of Health. This programme aims at providing a selection of free, regularly updated continuing education activities on HIV/AIDS and its related subjects for doctors, nurses, other health professionals and workers.

Format

Content
Most of the material will be HIV related although other subjects such as viral hepatitis and STI/dermatology may be included. The scope of programme material includes treatment updates, practice guidelines/recommendations, surveillance reports, meeting presentations, clinical photos and so on. The content of the iCE programme will be updated regularly.

Assessment
The iCE programme consists of two parts: (1) reading an article or educational material, and (2) answering multiple choice questions. Each programme is expected to take approximately one hour.

Please submit the completed answer sheet during the specified validity period by email to rrc@dh.gov.hk. Score of 70% or above is required for Continuing Medical Education (CME) / Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) / Continuing Education in Midwifery (CEM) accreditation. We will inform participant(s) of the test result by the 7th working day of the next month. Model answers will be sent to participant(s) who has passed the assessment.  Those who have not passed the assessment are encouraged to retake the assessment during the validity period.

CNE / CEM accreditation
For Hong Kong nurses, Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) and Continuing Education in Midwifery (CEM) points will be granted by the Department of Health, an accredited provider of CNE and CEM. Please refer to individual test paper for the number of credit points awarded.
