iContinuing Education (CME/CNE/CEM Activities)

The iContinuing Education (iCE) on HIV/AIDS is an initiative of Special Preventive Programme, Department of Health. This programme aims at providing a selection of free, regularly updated continuing education activities on HIV/AIDS and its related subjects for doctors, nurses, other health professionals and workers.

Format

Content
Most of the material will be HIV related although other subjects such as viral hepatitis and STI/dermatology may be included. The scope of programme material includes treatment updates, practice guidelines/recommendations, surveillance reports, meeting presentations, clinical photos and so on. The content of the iCE programme will be updated regularly.

Assessment
Each programme (reading and assessment) is expected to be completed with approximately one hour's work. Each programme will be valid for one year. The passing mark of the assessment is 70%. Those who have passed the assessment within the validity period will be awarded with credit point. Please read the material and complete the answer sheet (Word Document). Submit the completed answer sheet by email to rrc@dh.gov.hk . You will be informed of your test result by the 7th working day of the next month. Model answers will be sent to you if you have passed the assessment. Otherwise, you are encouraged to retake the assessment until you pass it within the validity period.

CNE / CEM accreditation
For Hong Kong nurses, Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) and Continuing Education in Midwifery (CEM) points will be granted by the Department of Health, an accredited provider of CNE and CEM. Please refer to individual test paper for the number of credit points awarded.
