HIV Surveillance and Epidemiology
This HIV surveillance and epidemiology section is designed to describe the HIV surveillance systems managed by the Special Preventive Programme, the Department of Health, HKSAR. It also functions as a platform to disseminate surveillance information.
Team members of the HIV Surveillance Office collate and analyze the data and regularly produce Surveillance Reports. As Hong Kong is located at the doorstep of the Pearl River Delta Region with high passengers flow, professionals from the cities in the Region are regularly update the situation of HIV / AIDS in the Pearl River Delta Region and exchanging latest relevant information.
Apart from tracking the epidemic, results from HIV surveillance and epidemiology are also used to formulate and evaluate various interventions.
